English outlines, must have at least 3-5 sentences right?

but isn't that like writing an essay when its only suppsoe to be an outline?

what are you suppose to put on outlines?for outlines, it doen't have to be in complete sentence
just write bullet point

its supposed to help you organize your thoughts before you write your essayHere's what a typical outline looks like:

Thesis:

Topic Sentence 1:

And. . .no you don't need to write your ideas in sentences. . .Think of Categories, Parts, Main Ideas.
Your I, II, III should be the biggest Central Ideas.
Your A, B, C... should be Summary Statements of What you want to say about your Central Ideas.

Also, remember if one of your central ideas only contains one summary statement, put it in parentheses beside the main point. (Only use A,B,C if there is MORE than A.)

I hope this is of help.Lets pretend your essay is on your life, it would go like this....

I. Intro
A. Birth
1. Bubble Hospital
a. 9:15 am
b. Febuary 31st, 2010

II. 1st body paragraph
A.First birthday
1. who was invited
a. Sammy
b. Susie
c. Billy Bob Kennly

So it goes in roman numberals (I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, XIII, XIV, XV, XVI, etc) for each paragraph. Then a capital letter and the main point in that section (there can be more the one main point) the go into details with numbers, and go into further details with lower case letters. But make sure to indent every time you change DIFFERENT letters/numbers.Hope this helps you!
