My EFC is 0. What does that mean?

EFC=expected family contribution

& because you have an EFC of 0, it means that based on your family's income, FAFSA has calculated that they are not financially able to pay any money for your education, meaning that you are eligible for MANY scholarships, grants, loans, etc.EFC=Expected Family Contribution

Basically it means that, based on what you and/or your family made in 2007, you aren't expected to contribute anything towards higher education because you're below a certain income level. For instance, I made about $14,000 last year and my EFC was $2600.

This, however, does not mean that you will be offered "free money". It usually qualifies you for some free money, like grants, as well as unsubsdized loans.
